Hello
My current printer has finally ran out of ink and im debating purchasing a new 3 in 1 printer so I can also copy/ scan.
To buy some cheap ink for my current printer will be about £10 off ebay (its a HP D1560).
Has anyone seen any good buys on a Printer/ copier/ scanner, preferably one with individual ink that can be replaced seperatly and that can be purchased at a low cost.
Many Thanks

What is the budget for the all in one and what quality scans are you looking for?0

Sorry never thought to mention anything like that. Im looking to spend around £50. Not too worried about having excellent quality scans, it will be more for copying than scanning and will be mainly text documents.
Thanks!0 -
Same situation here. My eye currently on Espon SX445W at £50.0

Bought the HP 3050A from Tesco stores couple of weeks ago, this is the printer/copier/scanner and is an air printer and is also suitable for IPads etc, on offer at the time for £36. Has the black and and colour separate cartridges.0

For text printing you shouldn't see any difference between these, except £10

Compatible inks are around £4 - £4:50 a set, though check for ink capacity if possible, maybe worth e-mailing a supplier before buying
Epson genuine cartridges may have 6.5ml of ink, compatibles generally may have 13ml of ink and some may have 19ml of ink.
Whenever one ink runs out and is changed, all cartridges use a bit of ink, so larger capacity cartridges are better as they reduce the number of cartridge changes. A printer will also use ink every time it is switched on, so leaving it on standby is better, if convenient.
Compatible inks may not have cleaning additives, like the genuine ones, so if you only print weekly, it is worth printing a nozzle check every few days to keep the ink fluid. A nozzle check uses a small part of an A4 sheet of paper, so you can use the same sheet four times at least by turning it, more if you cut the printed part off and re-use the paper.0 -

+1 for the Epsons - not the fastest or quietest (is that a word? :rotfl:) BUT in my experience both reliable and very cheap with compatible inks.0

Argos have the SX235W on special for £34.99 with free delivery.0

If youre going to be printing a lot, consider a laser, rather than inkjet (cost of ink v cost of toner). Ive got the Samsung SCX-3405W Wireless Multifunction Mono Laser Printer (Print/Scan/Copy) £99 from Amazon, with the wired version £20 less.illegitimi non carborundum0
