    Great post solly, just wish I'd seen it before ordering mine from Empire yesterday (as I've an Amazon voucher to use up and would've saved on the P&P). Still, I shouldn't complain as the camera has arrived from Empire this morning. It's a great price -- so hard to find a digital camera with optical zoom for that kind of money.

    Are there any reviews of this anywhere? I'm particular intersested in the battery life, shutter lag and how easy it is to use as I'm looking for a camera for my parents.

    No proper English language review but DCVIEWS has some more detailed info and a link to a German review.

    This camera appears to be known as the Sanyo DSC-S1 in other parts of the world and a Google search returned 36,200 hits.
