Our DD spent many many months in hospital from a stomach bug after being robust for years and if we could turn back the clock we would, because the long term effects are very serious even though she was lucky enough to survive
Botulism? That's not just any old dicky tummy though, that's deadly serious stuff. And fortunately very rare, the vast majority of stuff past BB isn't going to cause that. But it's one reason that people must chuck out blown or rusty cans or cans that have had a break in the lining inside, for instance from a severe dent. And be careful with home canning, if you can't guarantee you've processed the foodstuff properly then you're better off freezing the food. (Jams and chutneys are different, the sugar and vinegar act as preservatives if used in high enough concentrations.)Val.0 -
I would eat it all and I have also eaten stuff far older than that, with no ill effects. I have always had a 'weak constitution' and even I have survived, none the worse for wear.0

I asked a couple of months ago on here about eating tinned potatoes and tomatoes that were a couple of years out of date. We ate them and we're still here with no side effects! I did open the tins and inspect carefully first though. It wasn't the cost of replacing them, I just felt wasteful throwing them out. I did rinse the potatoes in clean water before using them and then made corned beef hash!0

The dry goods may well have weevils which although not a health risk ... well I wouldn't eat them if I had a choice
If you haven't needed them over the past few years do you really need them now?
This might help people decide on food safety
