Incorrect T&C's on event ticket

My boyfriend and I attended an event recently which we purchased tickets for before hand. On the tickets there are a list of 6 T&C's which state:
4. "food and drink will be available to purchase at the event. You may bring food and soft drink to the event for your own consumption provided that any soft drinks are held in plastic or paper containers with a capacity of less than 500ml"
For full even (their own spelling mistake, not mine) T&C's please visit blah blah blah
On visiting the link stated on paper tickets, I found the following statement:
You may bring food and soft drinks to the Event for Your own consumption provided that any soft drinks are held in plastic or paper containers with a capacity of less than 500ml.
When the boy and I arrived at the venue, food for our own consumption in hand (in nice little tuppaware boxes), our tickets were scanned, and we were sent to a search area. We were promptly told we were not allowed to bring in food and drink, and that we should ave received an email - the boy is adamant that he did not receive an email. We asked if we could consume the food outside, to which they said yes, but that we would not be able to enter the event, as we would be classed as having left the event.
Essentially, we were made to chuck away all the food and tuppaware, go to a paying cash machine in order to buy really bad over priced grease. Oh, and throughout all of this, we were treated like dirt.
Where do you think I stand with this? I am planning on writing a letter of complaint, basically stating the above, and also approximating the monetary loss occurred, but as the event was actually ran jointly by several different agencies, I am struggling to decide who to write to - I might just write to all of them.
Thanks in Advance

I'd be inclined to insist a refund for the food you purchased.0

There will be a lot of buck-passing I am sure, but someone somewhere made that error. Do the print tickets name the promotor? If you are unsure go back to where you got the paper ticket and ask them who the promoter is. Be prepared for it to be a tough job getting anything back.0

You can try to claim for the cost of your paid for food. However, is there anything in the T&Cs that states they retain the right to change the T&Cs at any time?MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0

That would almost certainly be classed as an 'unfair' term0
