I've been thinking about fitting thermal/Heavier curtains and have been reading up about the best types.
I have wrought iron curtain rails which make the curtains hang about
3 inches from the surrounding wall....is there any point fitting heavier curtains on these rails with such a gap that heat could escape through?
Thanks
SB

If the curtains drop all the way to the floor, it will make a big difference. We tend to tuck our curtains onto the window sill, but as our radiator rests just below the sill (which I think is daft), it makes sense for us to do so in order to stop heat escaping.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Thanks....I have storage heaters below most of the windows. There is about 2.5 inches of overlap all the way round between curtains and edge of windows. There is about 8 inches between storage heaters and curtains.
