How long does it take - How long is a piece of string
Sorry for the sarcasm but as I have found out, that question cannot be answered.
As for contact, they are not interested in what contact is made.0 -
Sorry if my last post was a little harsh !
But on here you will not find many people with anything good to say about CSA. That goes for both sides.
There really isn't any way of saying how long it will take. It may never happen. I am still waiting 14 later. They are trying again, but am not holding a lot of hope. If your ex knows how to play the game, you may never get a payment.
Don't want to appear to depressing, but please don't get your hopes up.0 -

Oops, responded to this in the other thread, didn't realise that you had a thread here.
Now that the DNA test has confirmed he's the dad, they will proceed with the assessment. He will have to provide payslips, if he doesn't then they'll go to his employer. They should be able to give you an assessment within another fortnight, then he'll be given the opportunity to set up payments with them for the arrears that have accrued by this point.
It's probably worth giving them a ring on Monday to see if they've got wage information from him yet.
Is he employed, on benefits or self-employed?0 -

If he has gone to the cellmark stage, then the assesment will take place and chances are within 2 months you may get some financial contribution.
You have to be realistic, the csa can't make him pay, but as said if he has requested a dna test then he may adhere. However your thinking may 'backfire' I pay my csa and that's it  .
The law can't force him to be the dad to your daughter you had hoped0 -
well its all i ever wanted and hope he does decide to be a dad to her she is three and already says she doesnt have a dad, she has a mummy, a nanny, a grandad and a cat. it really is sad she knows all this already, as far as i know he is working not been told any different and thank you i will phone them monday and well hopefully things will get sorted and he never paid before so cant really miss anything you have never recieved.0

Unfortunately the CSA can not force your daughters father to have contact with her they can only force him to pay maintenance, the rest is up to him.0

Unfortunately paying child support and being a supportive dad are often miles apart! Some people think that if the father doesn't pay then they will stop him seeing the child... The two things are not related in law at all.
If he isn't interested then unfortunately you cannot force him, and neither can any court or authority. Yes it's a shame for your little girl, but she will learn to live with it as many children have to do already. At least if he pays then he'll be doing a lot more than many!!0 -
Why don't you write him again and enclose a picture of his daughter and a drawing she did and invite him to meet her and see how that goes.
Even if he does not get involved now you can maybe send him pictures occasionally and copies of school/nursery reports when she is older. One day he may change his mind ...
If he does not want to parent her that is his problem but one day DD want to know about him and why he is not in her life and you can say hand on heart you really tried.
EMI think opinions should be judged of by their influences and effects, and if a man holds none that tend to make him less virtuous or more vicious, it may be concluded that he holds none that are dangerous; which I hope is the case with me.0
