Water fountains near the Aquatic Center & Olympic Park?

We have tickets for Aquatic Center tomorrow and wondered where are the nearest water fountains as soon as you enter the Olympic Park?

I'm not sure where the nearest ones are, as we filled ours at the athletics area, but I can tell you the queues for filling were 20 minutes long when we went!

That really depends on which entrance you are using doesn't it?
  • There's some just behind the Orbit, and then some over by the food court by the gardens. We waited about 10 minutes yesterday to fill ours at the beginning of the day.
  • We wnt last nite and there werequiye a few about. Near food court as said, less than 10 min to get it and once in stadium by the toilets entrance. So it might be the same at aquatics centre. Enjoy.

I took entrance B for the Aquatics centre and as soon as you come in, on your right in the corner is a water fountain. It's not tap operated though, it's the ones where they have the water in bottles that are then hung upside down and you use buttons to release the water.

Unless you have category A tickets, I strongly suggest you fill your water bottles up before taking your seat. I had category B tickets and the stairs were so high to get to. I was exhausted and needed water so went back down the stairs to get water only to find I left my bottle upstairs! Grrrr. I had to then go back upstairs and then come back downstairs and refill by which time I managed to drink half a litre of water and needed refilling before I went back up again! I'd hate to imagine what it would have been had my seat been any higher!

For the Olympic stadium, they are very well operated and I suggest you pop out during the event, there are short breaks here and there so you won't miss out too much action. I didn't have to queue at all for the Olympic stadium fountains.
  • Great! so there are water fountains inside the Olympic Stadium as well? We having tickets to closing Ceremony on Sunday :-)

When we went to the Olympics we were told by a volunteer that the tap water in the toilets is the same water as in the fountains. No queue at the toilets so we filled up there each time

Not exactly inside the stadium as in where you sit. But as you come out the stairs, you'll find toilets. Opposite the toilets there's a path and next to the railing is the water fountains.

Closing ceremony tickets - AMAZING! Lucky you! :T

I'm sure the poster above is correct in stating that the toilet water is the same but I'd prefer to get it from a fountain. I have to say the water from the fountain didn't taste like normal tap water so I drank very little.

I filled my bottle at the bottom with 100ml of squash, other people had some sort of sachets. I'm not a big fan of just water!

The macdonalds seemed to be usual prices though and go to the fast track, we got served immediately and I treated myself to a coke....!

Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

That's because the British love to queue. If we see one, we'll join it. Often I saw long queues for a water fountain when around the corner there was another one with nobody using it!
