Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

i agree that we don't need lots of posts adding to a spam, but quite often someone posting spam below helps me to stop clicking through. but if one persons posted, maybe others could refrain?

normally a message like "spam reported, please do not post below" works.
some people still feel compelled to comment.

...100% agree with you bones...but it is quite amusing to take the proverbial out of the spammers too. I always feel that ridicule might dissuade them a bit. ;)

Perhaps the board guides could put the SPAM logo on the thread on the annoucement page so that no one is tempted to even open the page. Just an idea.

    Edna_Bucket,
I have read some funny comments on spam threads but in general a spammer wouldn't take much notice of our comments or would try and argue how valid/legal/successful their link is.

    welshdede,
it is just as easy to delete the thread completely so people don't get conned, but on the other hand a spam logo could help others to learn what spam posts look like so that they are more aware and don't fall for them in the future

My comment on Spam - "on special offer now at Somerfield - 50% extra for £1.09" we bought 3. Sorry for the silly post but I think I get my second star at 150 posts and this seemed a good place to get it.-

wouldn't it be a good idea to have another 'button' that's a pic of spam, to seperate the abuse icon from spam, hopefully that makes whoever checks these things check all a 'spammers' posts and close their access?

make it easier for newbies to spot as well
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

I agree. Anything to help root out SPAM is good.
