Its really cutting it close with whats left over and im worried ive missed something really important out. Im also worried that they are going to class all the benefits as mine and then it looks like my partner isnt contributing a fair share to the household expenses, when technically most of them are his, as 4 of the children are from his previous relationship.

Im not sure I can take much much more of this, I burst into tears in front of a colleague today, im not sleeping and I feel constantly sick. Please tell me its not going to be like this forever. :(

If no car, why the £120 petrol????????????

Does your partner earn a lot more than you are quoting as a contribution?

You have already been advised that you need to put down the full incomes for both of you, and let the OR decide what is fair.

We woudl lose the car we have as its on HP so I would use my mums car to get to work while she stays at my home and looks after the children.

Sorry I thought I had to put down just what he contributes to the household bills but put down all the benefits we receive jointly. Would I then have to do another list of what my other half has to pay out of his wages otherwise they may just think all his wages are put into the pot when he just gives me some "housekeeping".

The contribution is fine. The OR may ask you what your OH earns and you will have to tell them.

The one thing I would do is take out the presents and put it in emergency.

I work out that the OH's contribution should be about £960pm based on the fact that he has 40% of the income and so should contribute 40% of the household expenses

I think your SOA is mostly fine, I would say the groceries could be higher for 7 of you. The only thing I think is high there is the TV/landline/internet all added together. Sky provide free internet with their packages, or £10 to upgrade to unlimited. I used to pay sky for all three things landline for phone, TV package and unlimited internet £43 so yours is quite a bit dearer.

Debtinfo, but if the OP has written down all of the benefits in her income there as SOA some of them will be solely for his children in CTC/WTC/CB so that would mean there is greater contribution of the benefits due to his children iyswim?

but the OP has included all the expenditure for those kids in her SOA as well, im sure she doesent eat £650 of food by herself, so if you include all the expenditure then you need to include all the benefits.

Thanks for the help guys. I wish he could contribute £960 but he has a car he has to pay for to get to work. This may all be mute anyway as hes facing redundancy, just got a 30 day letter though dont know what that actually means. :(

We live in Hull so cant have sky's internet. What I wouldnt give to move away from Kingston Communications.
