Was wondering has anyone on here bought part worn tyres?
Are they worth it,do you have to be careful when buying them, can anyone recommend any dealers in the Antrim area?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
I need 2 225x16 and they cost new at the cheapest price about £80 each:(

  • Get new tyres. I would have no faith in someone elses cast offs.
I put 2 new tyres on mine last week, but i knew for months they were getting near the limit and it gave me time to price around and have the money saved.
Of course thats no help if they just got damaged with out warning.
Armstromg Beattie were a reasonable price for me.
Could you stick the cost on a credit card and pay it when due with no interest? Mine gives about 8 weeks, :j

Need them urgently, didn't realise they were soooo bad.
Will price around tomorrow and see what I can find.
Anyone else any recommendations on where to go around the Antrim area?

MJ Tyres, Larne or N. Curran Tyres in Ballynure both do good quality part worns. ;)
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!
  • We got a tyre last week from Ivan Kerr tyres in Carrick. £48. This is for a renault megane so no idea if it is like what you need. we have used them a few times and they are quick and normally cheapest. Avoid McGowens, the cheapest on the phone were out of stock when we got there and heard on here aboubt them breaking the wheel lock nuts. That might not be the technical term!

Nothing wrong with properly done part worns, with the right logo on them (Kite mark?) as long as you're basically just commuting and not looking for performance. They're not 'cast offs' like 2nd hand tyres, they're more like remanufactured, and will have been checked before use.

All tyres are part worn after a while on your car. Make sure YOU check any before buying and having them fitted.
