I sent an email on ebay to the guy selling that above.
HE CONFIRMS IT IS NOT FROM MCDONALDS......so, it's just a card from Monopoly!!
DON'T BID IF YOU'RE THINKING THIS IS A PLAY CARD FROM MCDONALDS!!

but he hasnt done anything wrong. he has catagorized it as board games, stated it is a monopoly game card, and not mentionned anything about mcdonalds or the prizes from the game. unfortunate for the people who are misreading, but good for him!A good friend can tell you what is the matter with you in a minute ...:A0 -
Agree victoriajayne1987, however I'm sure you would agree that it is a bit deceitful. He's taking advantage of the current hype with Monopoly and McDonalds and the 'hard to get' game cards. I would say that there is no way he would put this type of auction up if there wasn't a McDonalds & Monopoly competition currently on.
Karma is a funny thing!0 -
probably so, but hey, if u can get the money for it, why not eh?! we all need it and want to get it in any way possible. he cant really be blamed for doing it, and he cant be reported to ebay, because he hasnt committed any sort of offence.A good friend can tell you what is the matter with you in a minute ...:A0

what you say depends on the extent - you can see he is trying to confuse people since most of what he is selling is the wanted cards from the monopoly playset NOT from McDonalds.
It can be an offence if it leads to confusion. Just like all those adverts on magazine that "LOOKS" like articles etc. They put "advertisement" to make sure it is clear.
If tricking people is how people earn money, I pity them. I agree with GoldenJill, karma is a funny thing. He/she does this to people, one day it is going to happen to him/her and hope he/she doesn't mind.0 -
That is exactly the type of thing that drags ebay down ~ like the people selling pictures of mobiles a while ago.0

We were discussing this in another thread a little while back.
If it's very clever then I would personally say it is theft by deception.
But I don't see this auction as that clever, he even says it is a card (not a sticker), so maybe in this case if the bidders aren't spoilers, they deserve to lose out?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
It does say card, but that sticker can still be regarded as a card (albeit a small one!)...it is so obvious that he is trying to link the cards to the current Monopoly McDonalds game and yet he doesn't disassociate themselve from them.
If people do a search, there are lots of scammers that does this, they send faxes or letters to people and the language in this letter is written so that people get confused and makes them think in a certain way and loses money because of it.
I still think that ebay seller is trying to steal money off innocent people. There are so many of these type of sellers in ebay and as a poster said, that's why ebay gets a bad name...0 -
Ebay should do something about this... you cant even contact the highest bidder to warn them as hes put on private auction.
Mind you you would think with all the scams out there people would be more wary, and the guy does tell you its a monopoly game card if you ask.
