You asked: PDL companies, what's been your experience? So I will tell you. I will also comment on other people's poor management of their finances as I see it - whether you like it or not.

My experience is that I've had two. Both were to make money from a cash back site which was hugely successful.

To be honest, if one has a truly unexpected bill or financial crisis then PDL have their place. BUT you need to understand they way they work. Failure to pay the sum back when you say you will is going to result in disaster. Equally, rolling loans over or getting a loan to pay a loan is utterly, utterly, foolish.

There are many, many excuses made by people on here as to why they couldn't pay their loan - from memory, loss of a job (totally unexpected, of course), another unexpected bill (what bad luck!), an essential appliance breaking down (like a washing machine, not really essential at all)...all poor excuses and yes, poor financial management.

Agree, how many times do we see such childish excuses about why the loan cannot be repaid?

These people think not repaying a loan is no different to those jovial excuses to teacher about why homework hasn't been handed in.

It all comes back to education but not necessarily from schools.

Sometime you have to accept you are clearly in the wrong, having a petulant hissy fit calling everyone "judgemental !! #@'s" does you no favours.

Grow up, and accept that whether you like it or not, you are an adult and must play by the same rules as the rest of us. If you make a commitment, honour it or face the consequences.

I'm on a payment plan with the Money Shop at the minute and to be fair they have been very good. Pounds Till Payday wrote my loan off but before anyone starts going on at me, I was diagnosed with cancer and havent been able to work for a long time. I paid them while I was working but then I took ill and couldnt work.

I was in dire need and had to borrow from Wonga. I couldn't afford to pay back on time (Friday) as the funds hadn't cleared in my account. Rang them up, explained and they froze the interest till the following Tuesday.

Good try, OP. I knew the second I read your post that the thread would become filled with 'advice' and not what you asked for. The joys of MSE, I'm afraid :)

My experience with PDUK has been a pretty good one. I haven't had a payday loan for years now, but it helped me out when I was in the transitional phase of moving out of my ex's and finding somewhere else to live.

Provided any PDL is paid it back on time and in full, I see no problem with them. Issues only arise because people don't pay it back in full. Instead opting to get more loans to cover the others.

If you know you can't pay a PDL back in full then stay well away.

In answer to the last questions; trying to help people (believe what you wish) and secondly I don't give a Peking what you do with the advice here. 'Easy' loan agreements taken out in the virtual world soon become problems in the real world. In my case, my brother's situation and the advice given were well founded in reality. Now is there a question for the safest way to juggle sweaty nitro?

Well said that man. Managed correctly they seem to be a useful commodity, if absolutely your last resort.
