End Dates Question

I always take a note of the competitions I enter, as well as use the entered button on here, but I never bother to take note of the end dates so now I'm left with a huge list of competitions and unsure what ones have ended, so I'm wondering for those who take a note do you also add the end date in so you can delete them once it's past?

Thanks for the replies, I will start making a note of end dates and make sure I don't delete them until a few months after they finish.
Nelie, I just make a note of mine in windows notepad, like for today I put todays date then a note of all the comps I have entered today underneath it.0 -
Sounds a bit too much work for my liking, but each to their own.
I prefer to enter, forget, then have a lovely surprise
But that's me :cool:Thanks to all posters :A0 -
I'm with Jaibaby. Don't know where you get the time to record every comp you enter. I used to record all my written efforts, but even that took too long. I do keep a diary of all my wins, that's as organised as I get.

I keep a record of the number of competitions I enter a day, but not which ones they are - I don't think I'd have the patience to record all the competitions I entered!Best of 2011: London Trip,Hot Air Balloon,£1660, phone,Kindle,Trip to Lapland! Total 2011 wins: £6865
Best of 2012: Trip to Disneyland Paris, £1665 cash/vouchers, trip to Harrogate, trip to Birmingham, £230 vacuum, 2 x mobile phones, Olympics tickets! Total 2012 wins: £66240 -
It takes me an extra 20-30 secs to record each comp, but then again Im not a try to enter as quickly as possible type of person and I dont race them. Its easy once you have a system like me, but it did take a good 30 mins or so to organise it originally now it takes less than a minute after each comp and a further 10 at the end of each comping day so not that long at all. I still enter anywhere between 50 and 150 a day, but if I dont have time to enter 100 in one day Im not that bothered. After all entering comps is just a hobby to pass the time for me.
I do mine on a spreadsheet.Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday

To me, that makes comping sound more like a job (paperwork - as such - keeping spreadsheets of end dates / ones you've entered). That's when comping isn't fun or a hobby and I would get sick of it.
There have been the odd few which I've made a small note of, normally in my "Comps to call" book (I make a list of comps that enter by phone and do them all together), but that's just in case they *could* ask me a piece of info that I would need to remember (password / codeword etc)
But I like the lovely surprise of a WEM or a parcel just turning up and me not remembering entering the competition. I love searching for that comp.
As I said, I would prefer to forgetThanks to all posters :A0 -
I'm with jaibaby here, I'd prefer the surprise of something turning up or a WEM or a WTC (still waiting for my first one, please let it be ITV, please please please).
I used to keep track of how many I entered a day on a spreadsheet but then it seemed like too much work.
I have a 'Daily Comps' folder which I do every day and then I'll do all the comps ending today and tomorrow and then that's it. If I have time, I might go through the Regular Comps board but that's very rare. You'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0
