Anyone had a call re: a homes and bargains comp?

Just had a call to ask if I had entered a comp, said yes, she said 'well a winner has been selected' then line cut out... Not sure if WTC or sales type call? It came from unknown tel no so can't call back... Anyone had a similar call?

I really hope I'm wrong, but my gut feeling is this is marketing. If it was real, I don't think they would ask the person who answered the phone, did you enter a comp. They would ask to speak to the person who had won by name - don't you think? Also, the fact that they hung up, and didn't phone back, just sounds more like a marketing thing. Sorry LW - fings crossed that you make me eat my doubts later.

They still havn't called back so i think you may be right.. they did ask for me by name however, I didn't catch which comp it was, there was a lot of background noise in the background, but i just searched and found a thread here for something similar:

regarding a blinds competition..

I'm not sure if mid sentance the lady realised i had ticked the 'no calls' box and then hung up on me or what but sounds like a sales call.. If i had won i'm sure she would have called me back by now.. shame!

If it's anything like one in the past, you've probably won a discount off blinds (which everyone who entered got). Hope it's not, but it does sound like a Call Centre that contacted you.
