Jobcentre - Saturday Appointment?????

Hey Guys

I've received a letter from my local jobcentre stating that I have an appointment tomorrow at 1pm.

Is it just a simple error, because looking on the back of some of my documentation, the opening times for my centre are 9am - 5pm Mon - Fri.

They did this to me a couple of months ago. I was terrified thinking I was in some kind of trouble, but what happened was that our local JC is so busy, the advisers can't spend enough time with each person, you are supposed to have a longer appointment every other signing time to discuss your job search and this hadn't been happening, it had been sign the book and leave.

So that's what happened on the Saturday sessions. I had two a week apart and had an uninterrupted half hour with the adviser. It seems these are geared towards the more serious jobseekers and I found it quite beneficial.

Its says the 1st September which is tomorrow. I do see a personal advisor breifly every 2wks, but last time he wasn't there so I seen someone else. Then when she booked my next appointment she said she would have to make it a month from now, because my usual advisor wouldn't be here in 2wks as he would be on holiday.

I'm being asked to bring my CV and a copy of 2wks job search.

just sounds like a normal signing on then, nothing to worry about.

Like I thought then, you haven't been able to get the longer slots with the adviser that you should be having, so they've given you a weekend one.
