BOBS - There's also a Home Bargains in the Kennedy Centre, Belfast. Also stores were planned in Newtownabbey, Carrickfergus and Omagh (poss others) but not sure if they're open yet. They are out there so keep your eyes peeled!!!

About 2 months ago I bought finish dishwasher powder from 99p stores. I don't use the full amount stated on the back and have worked it out it costs me a penny a wash. All my dishes aresparkling and I have a full size dishwasher but do not overload it as there is only two of us most of thet ime. I used to buy the basic tablets but this is definately SO MUCH CHEAPER! I bought 10 bottles and cleared the shelf.

A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!

  • Lidl does 30 dishwasher tablets for £1.69. I use them and they're fine, but they don't include rinse aid or salt but I add them separately anyway.

I have gone back to powder as it is so much cheaper and you can use less then recomended. Works fine in a full size machine!

Where do you get your powder? Only place I've found powder is Tesco Daisy brand and it's not very good..

I bought powder in the 99p shop, so far so good!
  • Do you cut your tabs in half?
If not, try it! Makes no difference that I can see and I don't get that strong perfumey smell when I open the DW.

I'd second the powder too. I used to get it from Morrison's, but it's been a while since I bought any as I'm working my way through my Finish mountain from dtd last year :D.

    It's only a game

Fairy Platinum all in one is on offer at Tesco at £5 for 30 tablets, voucher for £1.50 on SSM, if you are lucky you may also have £3 off vouchers from a while back, which can be used together, so 50p a pack.
I regularly use Tesco powder, and it does work out a lot cheaper than tablets - and you can adjust the amount for a smaller load.
