Hey guys, you could help me out here, Mikey you are king of the dinner party. We have some people coming over on wednesday, it's a pretty important thing really, you know a work thing, hopefully before much longer I will be telling you all about it, a bit of an announcement, well a big one actually. Anyway, I am awful in the kitchen, I blame it on the cooker being a bit crap... it has two settings raw and burnt to a crisp. So what can I cook, something impressive but easy?:A

Are you drunk already? I hate it, my method of shopping is to run up the centre of the store, if I cant get it on the ends of the aisles I don't need it. Then if there is more than one person in front of me in the queue I put it all back, I really hate waiting in line. So, I do it online mostly because I get such a hard time from the OH when he sees what I fail to come home with.
Not yet !!
NO I like it.. Im in there for ages ... I love treat shopping !0 -
Hi Toto,
My idea of food shopping is to take a good book and stay in the car, er well van now, read a few chapters, have a snooze and then load the trolleys into the back of the van; new man eh?
One evening when I was feeling a little jaded, I just hauled the trolley into the back of the van, complete with shopping, and off we went; minus a £1 of course. It was funny, I think people expected to see TV cameras appear; needless to say, I got my £1 back and the supermarket it's trolley :cool2:

Italian food is the easiest.. pasta etc etc.. cant go wrong with that !
Or call a nice indian or Thai and get it in about 1/2 hour before they arrive and put it into casserole dishes etc.. then dish out like you cooked it !

What a cool idea! I am going to take the van next time we need to venture into the place. I wish I could send OH in while I read a book but he is a new man a bit like yourself and seems to think he needs me to be in charge of the food thing. I do often make myself look really busy with stuff he doesn't touch, like the accounts, then moan that we have nothing for dinner. He weighs up the options of accounts or Tesco and usually picks the shopping. As soon as he is out of the door, I go and soak in the bath, works like a dream!:A

I might do the indian thing, it's safer than me risking burning something or giving them food poisoning (I'm not that bad, just don't trust my oven). I have got one of those chocolate melty pot things, so for pudding I could chop up a bunch of fruit and melt some chocolate, that usually does the job. Of course you two could come down for a visit midweek, with your oven gloves?:A
