Changing facebook name

Hi! Apologies if I'm posting on the wrong board.

Basically I used a nickname for my facebook account, as I didn't want schooltime bullies being able to find me.
However, I now realise from posts on here that I should be using my real name, and that by using a nickname my facebook account could be closed or competition wins deemed invalid.

So I'd like to change my name to my real name, but:
1. Will facebook think it's weird that I'm changing my name and close my account?
2. Will any facebook comps I've already entered be invalid when I change my facebook name? (Although when I fill in any entry forms I always use my real name - which at the moment is different from my facebook name).

I would be so grateful for any advice.:)

No, facebook will not think you are weird - people change their names all the time (often as a result of frape or just for a joke!)

I don't know about competition entries. I would guess anything with a form you'd probably be fine.

I would just open a completely new Facebook account in your real name and then use that one. Any comps you have entered in the old one will still be OK until they close.

Put your nickname as the (.....) part after your name. Then use your real name. Or the other way round xx

Thanks so much for your advice - I was getting a bit worried about it. Have now changed to my real name with my nickname in brackets - so hopefully that will all be ok now.:)
