I have been an irregular contributer on here for a long time.
I have to say I share FK's view regarding lists etc. Yes the whole point of this thread is that the info is shared, but I have never missed info because it wasn't in a list. I may have had to ask for it, (nicely) or send a PM, but I got there in the end.
I am sure that everyone has experienced a cancellation email from somewhere like Tesco's when they have ordered a reduced item from the main page, many of these happen simply because the company gets swamped with orders, people order large numbers of items, and that rings alarm bells (or some smart alec rings them up to ask about the price) and then every deal gets cancelled.
However, if everyone ordered just one, and didn't then post it on their facebook page (and yes, every other website too) then the alarm bells would not ring and more people could take advantage of the glitch, just over a longer period of time.
That is what this thread is about, quietly ticking along, helping where needed and making sure that we (as in the people who read this thread) all benefit. It is a community, and yes, we do want to guard it.
Lets also not forget that is is a core of contributors that not only create the community, but also tend to find the glitches and add them into the thread. If this core is alienated then we all lose because then we will not be made aware of glitches at all.
We are also aware that T's and A's and S's do keep an eye on MSE to help them close glitchs (or promote them!) and whilst it is not too hard to follow things, we don't want to make it to easy for them.
The speed this thread moves and the high level of chat helps this.
Let's not forget that if we didn't share glitchs, no one will benefit, but if we take out a full page advert in the sun to let everyone know about a glitch, it won't be a glitch for long.
So, we all need to work in the same way to keep a balance between these two things to maximise the opportunities for everyone. The way we have done that in the past is tried and tested and proven to work, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, so lets keep it nice, keep it friendly, but keep doing what we have always done to keep the balance.0 -
