The chap started to say that he would register the cards to me and process immediately, but I politely stopped him and said that I would prefer my money back.
He said this was no problem and processed the refund - after which he said 'So you will have had the gift set for free' to which I replied "well that will go some way towards compensating me for the long wait then!". He was very nice about it...
