    Indeed - and this is why financial regulations mean that loan companies are required to give you the APR in their description of the product, so that you can do a like-for-like comparison.

    Yes, the credit card application will already have been recorded on your credit file and this may/may not have any effect on your ability to get a loan. It comes down to the lenders lending criteria.
