Did not find this board at first here is a copy of what I posted elsewhere on MSE.....

So I am getting married.

In short met a lovely Russian lady in Prague last year only when we decided we would like to get married did things get complicated but several months and nearly a £1000 later we have permission from the UK Govt. to get married in the UK.

I wonder if anyone has any contacts for reasonably priced photographers in the Birmingham area who are good at taking pictures of people, able to make both look OK (she is beautiful I am not so) and do not mind an unconventional wedding photo shoot with time pressures (we only have an hour).

I have lots of contacts with professional sports photographers and wedding photographers but they are all in the south east!

Why don't you ask one of your south-east based photographer contacts for their recommendations in Birmingham?

Good luck marvin & have a wonderful day! I know the hoops & hassles you have to go through - but I married my handsome Nepalese husband earlier this month after 5 years of dealings with the Home Office & UKBA!

We're both Georgian, and importing a wife when I returned from uni (I had a UK passport, she'd always lived in Russia/Georgia) was very expensive, even more so when there's kids involved :beer:
