There's nothing like that no shoes feeling after a long day
I noticed the offers for Boots and wanted to go in but decided that after parking cost (can't walk in with the two kids) and having them with me in town would be an expensive freebie/special offer.
Roll on next week when they go back to school!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

It was nice today to be able to buy a 1st birthday present for a cyber-friend's son, and to give the taxi drivers who took me and mum to and from town a non-embarrassing tip (paid each way with a fiver, for a £4 fare).
I think you get into the frame of mind when anything spent on yourself that isn't strictly necessary makes you feel guilty. However I will exclude fish tanks, as the fishies need someone to love and feed them!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I had a hospital appointment today so as a small reward for enduring a boring wait we called in Sainsburys and bought a ready made sandwich for lunch, it tasted so much nicer than homemade and it was reduced. They also had organic toiletries reduced and hubby encouraged me to buy some gorgeous lavender shower gel. A good day!0

I gave myself a treat today after a couple of frantic work days. I found a posh hairdresser that advertised for free models for short hair haircuts, so I went in and booked a haircut for next Friday.
Additional rewards: I bought myself a magazine (£3) and a buffet veggie chinese meal & unlimited jasmine tea (£6.50). Very extravagant for me but I have earned it with a lot of hard work in the last few days!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
How is work going Caterina? Hope it's working out well for you. I 'treated' myself to a litre of fizzy bitter cranberry drink! about 39p in somerfield:) and some reduced bagels!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

We treat ourselves with our holidays. A lot of our money goes towards doing the house up (a long term project, which will hopefully reap us some rewards, whether we sell or rent it out), we work long, long hours in a stressful job, and we don't do much else.
So we save up all our 'spare' cash, and go on holiday as much as possible. Turkey, France and Fuerteventura last year, Egypt, France and Crete booked for this year.
The money saving still takes place though - as all hols are thoroughly researched on t'internet, and we shop around for bargains. France costs £45 for 5 days - only pay for the flight as we stay with friends!
Long term treat will be our dream to run a boarding kennels, when we finally gt the house ready to sell to make some cash to use as a deposit - til then, it will be our regular cheapy trips away."It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

I wanna BIG treat - to set myself up with a laptop & wireless network so I can access these threads from the comfort of my sofa next to my beloved instead of the corner of the dining room, shut off from the rest of the world! It's going to take some budgeting, but at least the know-how from this site is making it seem possible to have enough spare cash, and when the time comes I'll be able to get a top money-saving deal too!:money:£2 savers club - £62

March target: £150 on food, £50 on other stuff - still not doing very well at keeping track...

Not sure if this is the right place, but as most on here think "out of the box" you may have some ideas!
I'm trying to lose wight currently, but no real success. Have decided that I'll try to walk more and if I can do more than 10,000 steps each day I'll reward myself - but how?? Can't be food linked and can't cost a lot?
It made me wonder how others deal with the idea of rewarding themselves - not necessarily for losing weight but for anything they really want to do and find hard. Of course, clearing debts brings it's own reward!!! Anyway, what do you all do?Resolution:

Hi beemuzed,
There's an older thread on rewarding ourselves that might give you some ideas so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together.

I KNEW there was an older thread. Could I find it?! Thanks, Pink!
My reward tends to be a bubble bath WITHOUT child or baby. Just me and the bubbles (and maybe my thrify ways or more with less books!)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
