help my new TOMTOM is dumb-dumb

Hello all,
I got this excellent deal at Tesco's over a month ago and bought a TOMTOM well now my 28 days of grace is over it's stopped talking. TYPICAL. I have decided to buy another one and return the faulty one after a few hours. I don't feel bad bcos it's not my fault why should I have to go looking for the head company will I be caught out...please be gentle....

Press the reset button on the bottom. It solves a good two thirds of problems i've found.
