Rice in slow cooker?

I have some pork cooking away in my slow cooker at the moment and I plan to serve it up with rice, peas and sweetcorn (using up storecupboard bits!). Can I bung some bog standard brown rice in my slow cooker as well? Or would I be better off cooking it separately?
I've had a search around and have only come across rice pudding recipes, however if there is one out there please could anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thank you!

Hi lemonade_money,
I don't see any reason why you couldn't add the rice into the slow cooker, especially if you are going to be around to keep an eye on it and check that it doesn't stick or over cook.
If you do decide to try it come back and let us know how it goes.

Edit: Just found this recipe on google which would suggest it should be fine.0 -
Thanks Pink. I'll go into the kitchen and shove it all in with the pork now.
I shall report back after dinner time!:xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Pleased to say that it worked a treat! I shall definitely be doing this in future as it saved me loads of time and tasted lovely as the rice soaked up all the juices.:xmassmile:rudolf:0
