Assuming they haven't changed the rules from a couple of weeks ago:
You can take in food but not drinks (or any liquid over 100ml, except suncream). It is permitted to take in empty bottles to fill up at the drinking water taps inside.
I think the wording is something along the lines of 'food in reasonable quantities'; we took a small rucksack each with sandwiches, fruit, crisps, cereal bars etc and no-one even looked. I think the general idea is that no-one brings in massive bags that block the aisles.
Hope they have a great day.0 -
Worth noting that it's airport security so noting you couldn't take on a plane eg penknife or other pointy things and no alcohol. Though the drink in the Park is reasonably priced (by London standards) :beer:0

Hi,
After we fill up our water bottles from one of the water fountains in the Olympic Park then can we take it with us inside the Aquatics Centre and Olympic Stadium?0 -
Yes, the security is just to get into the park. There were no additional checks when entering the stadium.0

Hi, i was wondering about suncream. It looks like it might be sunny when we go on Thursday to Olympic park. AS you can only take in 100 ml of liquid how do i get suncream in?? I burn very easily and and have sensitive skin so can only use particular brands.
Thanks0 -

A travel size tube/bottle of suncream is fine. Just go to the travel section in Boots. If the sort you like doesn't come in little containers, decant it into one of those little Body Shop bottles. But you definitely won't be allowed anything larger. At every venue I've been to, there has always been a pile of contraband stuff eg alcohol, large containers of sun cream. And you won't get it back

100ml is a lot, BTW - I've been using the same one for the whole summer and it's still going. The large bottles are a bit of a rip-off for a singleton as you don't get through one in an English summer and received wisdom is that you shouldn't use them for years.0 -

There is a pharmacy in the park which sells sun lotion - no idea of the prices though sorry.
also if you are sitting in the park live area there are british airways sponsered helpers walking around and they have sun lotion you can use too0 -

Up to 200ml of sun cream is allowed, which I think covers all normal size containers. I've certainly taken a normal one in each time I've gone anywhere and had no problems.
