I love writing, and when in the mood to write I write well. Be it a formal letter, review or a Tongue in cheek piece on current affairs. Question, what next?
I haven't a clue where to start? Any pointers greatly received

I haven't a clue what you are asking ...0

Sorry it's a bit late, am asking where do I go from here? How would I begin to look into writing as a part time, or full time career
Thanks0 -
Degree in journalism? Publish an e-book?.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Generally you start with a beginning, a middle and then a end.0

Writing covers such a diverse range of topics and media etc that it might be worthwhile taking some time initially to decide what you like to write about: fiction, non-fiction, humour, critiques, observational etc
If you are able (and if it appeals), you could look at degree courses (eg journalism, creative writing etc). If this isn't an option then how about checking to see if there is a writer's group in your area that you could join. You could also do a google search for writers' groups/forums and ask people how they first started.
I would imagine the main thing is to start writing and keep writing. That way you'll identify your writing preferences and styles which, in turn, may help you to decide whether journalism is your thing or whether you might want to write a novel and e-publish it.
I wish you the best of luck.£5 per day challenge

Are you looking to be able to make a living out of it, or will it only be a hobby ? Lots of people try to make a couple of extra pounds by blogging (there's a long thread on here) Textbroker seems to ge getting talked about there recently. Fit something like that around your life as it is now and as you get better go for bigger things.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

If you're looking for something part-time, Textbroker and Clickworker are good places to start. There's a bunch of us who use those sites on the 'Up Your Income' board. If it's something you're interested in then please drop me a PM and I'll send you a referral link for Clickworker (I think it's against the rules to post it on here). Both pay fairly well (I've been using them for around a month and average about £100 a week part-time), but it's a personal preference as to which you use, or you could use both.0

I've got a book on my Kindle which i downloaded from Amazon when it was free. The author talks mostly about Textbroker, from where most of her income comes, but does mention other similar sites.
Look out for it, most of these books come up for free again.

Buy the Writers and Artists Yearbook. It provides masses of information about writing and submitting all types of work (film scripts, radio, novels, non-fiction etc), how to get a literary agent, potential pitfalls etc.0

Have a look at this: http://www.prospects.ac.uk/writer_job_description.htm
Use the links in the More In This Section box to look at options, training requirements, sources of work and vacancies and other similar jobs that involve writing.0
