What do lenders see

When you apply for credit, when a credit check is done on loan, credit card, overdraft hp, etc, What is it they actually see, do they check your file manually, or is it a computer.

The reason I ask, is that sometimes when you apply for any credit, sometimes it is accepted in seconds, and other times hours or days. can anyone explain this, Thanks

  • its what they call credit scoring system for each information on your application carries points

for example....length at address carries 20 points
length employed at same address 24 points
being on electoral register 28 points
no missed payments in last year
no default which is generally an automatic rejection anyway, same with ccj's

they are some lenders who take people with adverse information
if it takes longer then seconds its because they are checking for more details within their system, stuff that maybe needs clarifying
