We did a full application with Halifax a week last Saturday.
We've sent it (via fax) all requested documents and they've spoken to my employer to confirm the name on my payslip is infact me (I practice under my maiden name).
Survey was last wednesday.
We got these validation letters on Saturday so called to say we'd both received them to be told that was the last thing they were waiting for.
So today I've just called (5.15pm) for an update to be told that there are a few 'business decision items' outstanding including information from Equifax! Surely they've not instructed and carried out a valuation and survey (which came back fine) without credit checking us (which was my biggest concern).
Stress levels are now reaching an all time high!!

This is not the way Halifax operate, they credit search before they submit to valuation.

Did you do this through a broker or through the branch?

Try to calm down, so long as you have been honest it should not be an issue.

Incidentally, Halifax hardly ever use Equifax as their core credit referencing agency...

Thanks Dave.We did it online / then finalised over the phone. They told me last week that credit checks had been done and then valuation/survey paid for and undertaken.
Outstanding was a copy of our marriage cert (due to my name change and different name on payslip -maiden name) and the validation letters they send out, which we confirmed receipt of.
We've been totally honest about all debt. But today this has really panicked me as on Saturday they said it was diarised to be reviewed today and offer would be made now all docs submitted.
Confused is an understatement but perhaps I'm just getting worked up as a nervous ftb.

Think someone has communicated badly and you have you put your focus on their words..

Try not to worry, Halifax are straightforward to deal with and this should honestly be fine...

    All the best

Do not look for things to panic/stress over, plenty will present themself without your help.

Fingers crossed for a straightforward exchange and completion.

    Good luck

    Congrats!

We're in a similar position at the moment and stress levels an all time high. Survey/valuation being done Friday, advisor said offer should be received early next week. God this is stressful!
