Just because you don't need a server doesn't make it a bad buy. This is not a desktop replacement, it's a SERVER and £148 for a low-end server (a company will claim the VAT back) is a good price

It's about as much of a server as my left foot ;) It'll make a lot of noise but otherwise it's a PC with a server badge. When was the last time you didn't want a NIC in a server?

Whilst searching for cheap cinema tickets or offers for the children I found a site called Smartfreestuff.co.uk entered my email aand was allowed acess . One of the offers is for a Dell server reduced from £299 to £99. not much of a computer wizard but it may be hepful to someone. Below is the link. I haven't figured out how to make the direct link work in this page yet so you will have to cut and paste, sorry.

It's a server by name, but not by nature. I wouldn't like to run it as anything than a fileserver, and then only for very small companies. I don't think it's worth the money, wait until another dell misprice comes along, you'll get better value.
No reliance should be placed on the above.

I got one of these servers as a freebie when our company bought a £2000+ main server. I can say they are excellent as a server and would recomend it to anyone. Its been running for 1 year nonstop now and is quick and reliable to use. Upgrading the hard disks was no problem at all and there is lots of space inside.

If you need a server, this is an excellent deal.
    Save save save!!

    Guys,

I just ordered mine at 139 pounds including postage and VAT. I just asked nicely for a postage discount.

... and that's all I have to say about that.
