UK Resident, pay Norwegian Tax

Hi

Does anyone know if there are any issues getting a mortgage if I work in Norway and pay full Norwegian tax?

I work on a rotation in Norway and get paid in GBP into my UK account. I then file my Norwegian tax assessemnt with my UK tax assessment every year.

I live in the UK and have always lived in the UK, as does my family. I currently have a mortgage but I am looking to buy a new property and sell the current one.

Thanks
Adrian Todd

It should make no difference to you as you are still registered as a UK tax payer. UK and Norway have a reciprocal tax agreement so any tax you pay in Norway is not due in the UK.

As you are UK resident you are assessed for tax on your earnings even in Norway, but as long as the tax you pay to Norway is equal to or greater than the tax you would have paid in UK then it is the same as if you paid the tax in the UK.
