Does anyone know if there are things they won't buy? Or is it mostly dvds/games? I've only ever been in one of these shops once and it was a while ago.

Hi
I think you will find that as long as the item works they will buy anything BUT AT A PRICE. They are in it to make money so what you see in the windows priced up will have no bearing on what you will be offered {ie; modern games machine in window at say £80.00 you MAY only get £15 or £20 max for it}
If therre is no rush as such sell on Ebay or Amazon at least that way you get a fair price :0)

I was thinking of stuff I could take and then it dawned on me that we have that Beatles Rock Band for the Wii just sitting in the cupboard gathering dust. The full set, too. Drums, Microphone, guitar and game and all only been used about twice.
I might call them tomorrow. If they offer too low obviously I won't bother but I think this stuff is worth at least £40. It cost £95 new. But then they'll probably see differently.0 -
look at 25% and below purchase price I would expect.
They have to pay staff, overheads, insurance and franchise/profits... so ebay would be better but there are risks with eBay............... Have you ever wondered what

Well I took the stuff in this morning. The Beatles game/set + another Wii game + a little 15inch Freeview telly i used while at uni and they wanted to give me £20 for the lot, including the telly.
Came home with the lot, put the telly on facebook and someone's coming for it later. £20 for that on its own0 -

I've looked on ebay and the rockband sets are going for £30 each at least. I don't know if i'll put it on there just yet as I only took it to CC in the hope of getting some cash for going to Glasgow with.
I don't know if it's worth mentioning though that when i put the stuff on the desk he mentioned that loads of people were bringing Wiis in but strangely enough I didn't see a single one for sale in the shop :cool:0 -
CC refer to eBay for their pricing. I made an offer on a DSLR a year back. It had been sitting unsold for 2 months. They refused my offer saying they could get £500 for it on Ebay.
Mind you, I was being cheaky and offering £450 for it (I was actually willing to pay their asking price, but decided to haggle).Never Knowingly Understood.
