Baby Competition Advice

Hi,

I was just looking for some advice from you guys regarding baby competitions. As a newly expectant mother I've been trying really hard to win some baby things but with no luck. I've been trying for over 3 months now & was just wondering if anyone found it difficult to win the baby comps or have any advice as to what the best ones to enter would be? Baby stuff is just all so expensive and anything I could win would really be a great help.

I also (perhaps naively) thought that these may have a higher win chance as these type of prizes would have less people entering.

Thanks
Nov - organix hamper & £50 tesco voucher
Jan - Boon Baby bath frog & bath toys
Feb - 2 cinema tickets
March - 2 cinema tickets/3 packs of baby porridge/Coors t-shirt
April - nothing!
May - 2 tickets to home show

Hi,I'll be honest & say that they may get less entrants than some comps eg for such as an iPad but interest in online comping has boomed in the last year or so & the wins seems less,at least here :-)
Just keep plugging away & hope.
Some sites do take ages to send prizes out.A few years back I won a puschair via GreatCompetitions, thanks to Elver Man.The prize took about four months to arrive & just turned up one day with no email or postal warning.
What sites are you entering on?
I'll pm dalkirst to move this to discussion as you may get more help there.
  • I am pregnant too and been entering baby competitions. I just look on here for them and facebook and twitter and make sure I enter them all. I've won a few things.

    Hi Elledee,

I'm sorry you're not having such luck with these competitions, but as with any competitions, they come down to luck so nothing is ever guaranteed. All you can do is keep trying and keep your fingers crossed. I think all competitions regardless of what they are for have a high number of entrants, as there will always be people that enter for things that they could win for their own friends or family or sell on, so don't let the 'target market' thing make you think that there will be far fewer entrants.. (Just my opinion). I've also noticed a huge increase in the amount of people comping just on this forum alone so times that by loads more for people not using this forum.. I guess it's a sign of the times??

You might have better luck with some effort comps, or comps that require photos or surveys etc as generally less people enter these.. Blog comps have fewer entrants so higher chance of winning, and there are loads of mummy/baby type blogs out there, just need to be a dab hand using google and youll find them easy enough, plus there are thousands of comps posted on here too :D

Good luck with your comping :D
I smile because I have absolutely no idea what's going on

Im pregnant as well but not won much. I just make sure I enter them all and sometimes things do turn unexpectedly. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll start winning.
Best wins: £10k Kitchen, weddingmoon in St Lucia, £3000 cash, 3 x iPads, £1000 cash x 3, tickets for my niece to meet Justin Bieber, Thailand holiday, Milan holiday, Mulberry iPad cover, Mulberry clutch bag, £2500 Peter Werth clothing, Dubai holiday, Center Parcs holiday
  • Hi, I have won a few things with the baby competitions and as weeowens said they do take ages to post out the prizes and as most of them don't tell you that you have won you don't find out until the postman knocks on the door. Also, the competitions tend to run for quite a while so by the time it has been drawn and then posted out to you it can easily be over 2 months especially if you entered on day 1/2 of the competition being open.
Keep going, it is just luck, the first ever competition I won was a local baby one and in 2 1/2 years I have won 5 which may not sound a lot compared to some people but I don't take it as seriously as I should as I don't have the time.
If you have spare time, try doing surveys I use that money to then by treats for my little one.

Thanks folks! I enter the baby great competions that get posted, baby blog comps, and the comps that come up for sites like mum knows best, kiddiecare etc. I'll just need to keep plugging away & hopefully a wee something will turn up in the post.

I'm pregnant too and have been entering the baby comps but haven't been successful yet. Some of them won't end for a while though, and then prizes can take a while to be sent out.

  • Although I am not pregnant - my wife is and I have been entering every baby comp going for the last six months...

In the the first three months I won a feeding bottle which just turned up out of the blue and I still have no idea where from.

In the next three months I won a box of baby wipes (twelve packets!!) which are safely stashed away.

Then two weeks ago I got a phone call to tell me I'd won an Uppababy pushchair - still can't believe it as it hasn't turned up yet - and that was from the Pushchair Trader comps. Without a shadow of doubt it is my best ever win.

So three wins in over six months and thousands of baby comps entered and even given the maths I still think I've been very lucky.

There are so many people out there with babies on the way, young children, children that are going to have kids, grandkids that are going to have kids, friends who are going to have kids etc etc that I think that these comps are probably the second most heavily entered after the ITV ones.

What I enjoy about entering the baby ones though is the chance to see the range of stuff out there and get some seriously good info and advice that we never had with our first two....
:smileyhea Thank you to all that post comps - may the Comping Fairy return your time and generosity doubled!:smileyhea

Hi,just shows to all the promotors who have an issue with sites such as MSE what the benefits are of allowing comps to be posted on here.
There must must be a sales benefit for them & just do not understand the odd site that is against us posting on here.

Good luck in your baby comp wins :-)
