Student loan + mortgages

I finished uni in 2006, and have a big loan (~£15k). Will this affect my chances of getting a mortgage?
I am not even paying the loan back, though should have been for years. I have phoned them many times about this, yet nothing seems to happen.
My pay is £32k, and i have a £70-£80k deposit saved. I am hoping of a £110k-£130k mortgage.

If the student loan is your only debt. Then no.
The only debt I have ever had is a Student loan. I walked into halifax with my deposit and wage slips and 20 minute later I was approved for a mortgage.
Meh, one way or another my student loan will eventully be gone. Either by me paying it off or by it getting written off. If it's written off, then thank you Tax Payer
If you have £70-80K deposit. I would just pay off all your student loan in one go and get rid of that bad boy.

Surely it makes no sense to pay it off? The interest on it is 1.5%, so i might as well leave it there and keep the money for my deposit!0

That would be a really silly thing to do - the interest rate is negligible. On here, Martin advises NOT paying it off when you don't have to. It's not real debt.0
