Memory foam 6ft mattress

Hi all, I've been to our local Dreams shop in L'Derry and liked the 6ft Memory foam mattress but not the prices:) Any advice where I could be similar but a lot cheaper mattress.
Also any links to where I could buy thick (say 4") foam sheets so I can explore making the fabic covered headboards like on this bed that cost so much.
For what you are getting these 2 items seem to be very expensive and there has to be away to save 100's for, if not the same quality but some where reasonably close .......
Thanks in advance for any links or advice

Suggests the memory foam layer itself is not that thick - how about getting a memory foam mattress topper for your current mattress?a single plush layer of Octasprings, sandwiched between two supportive layers of memory foam0 -
Octasprings are a like a spring but made with memory foam.
There are trying to reinvent the wheel.
A spring should be made of metal, not foam.
I went on the Octaspring trade stand at the NEC furniture show and can say that it's an over priced gimmick.
Go for pocket springs topped with memory foam and save yourself about £500.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
i bought a memory foam mattress but will never do so again - after 9 months or so it stopped rising to it's flat shape and forever had body shaped dents in it! I am now looking for a 'normal' mattress and will buy a memory foam topper
Mine was a good make of memory foam mattress by the way!                 :dance:I am finally understanding what money can do for me!0 -
We tried the octaspring mattress instore yesterday as well. I have to say it was comfortable. I haven't really found a spring mattress in store that I actually liked, with or without the memory foam top. We have a pocket spring mattress with memory foam top, it is 5 years old and it needs changing, as you can feel the sagging in places, it is not supporting our odies that well anymore. It wasn't cheap either, a good make, but after 5 years it is giving me back ache most of the nights!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

Why reinvent the wheel? A spring is a spring made from metal.
Octospring is still foam, just how much air flow does the Octospring really create? Therefore cooling you down, I suspect very little. Just like those useless airvents on the side of sprung mattresses.
What happened to the inflatable air bed that you could change the pressure on either side thus creating different tension. At least 2 companies have tired it and it bummed. Kaymed and I can't remeber the name of the other company.
While I congratulate Octospring on trying something new, it has been done before at least 2 if not 3 years ago. I saw it myself at the NEC.
There is already a prefect and similarly price product on the market and in my mind the best solution ever. It's called a water bed!
Also a proper supporting pocket sprung mattress will support you in the right places, minimizing reduce blood flow.
Please feel free to reply, just don't include any links advertising the product. Although as I'm not a MOD you may get asked to leave, if you haven't asked permission from them to post.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
