Can anyone please recommend a good private dentist anywhere in Newtownabbey. I'm not currently registered with any dentist and I've got really bad toothache. Also, if I'm going private I'm assuming I don't need to have my medical card as I've no idea where mine is.

Try Brian Ferris on the Doagh Road, been my NHS dentist for longer than I care to remember and I've had no issues. Hopefully they'd be happy to take you on privatelyNorn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

My family where with Mr Ferris at Whiteabbey Dentists for 40+ years, but while i had no issues with him in particular, i found the room he does his dental work in to have got progressively less hygienic in recent years. When one of his staff took a tissue from her pocket and wiped around the console where the mouth rinse & tissues etc are kept and then put the tissue back in her pocket, i decided it was time to find another dentist. Moved to the newly refurbished Monkstown Dental Surgery last year without a problem. Very friendly staff and immaculately clean & tidy treatment rooms.0

Monkstown dental have private and NHS. I have been NHS with them sicnce I was a child. They recently upgraded and abt 1/2 of the dentists are private. I had to move from mine to one of the others as he went private.
My mum hadn't been since 1999 and registered NHS last month no probs.0
