Quidco, TCB, Sky and the "other referrer" issue.

i want to start this thread as the main place to gather information and updates about this issue because it's not fair to hog the main Quidco Q&A thread with it.
Basically, myself and a number of other people have upgraded our Sky accounts through Quidco for the cashback. Sky have subsequently declined these claims due to "the referral fee for your purchase has been paid to another referrer".
Now while I can accept that mistakes can happen and people can be careless when clicking through retailer links, when multiple people are told on the same day that the cashback has been declined for the exact same reason, I cannot accept that this is user error.
And this is apparently not just a Quidco issue. Reading the latest reviews of the service on TopCashBack show that numerous people have had similar issues with Sky.
I have asked Quidco to investigate this a number of times and they appear determined to cover their eyes and pretend nothing is happening so it is my intent to approach the Advertising Standards Authority and, if necessary, Trading Standards with the view to lodging a formal complaint.
I will use this thread to post updates on my progress and I would be extremely grateful if anyone else who has had the same problem with Sky could let me know as well because if i think there will be a better chance of progress if I can present proof of multiple claims. Thanks to those who have PM'ed me so far.

Happy to get involved. We were refused our cashback from Sky from Topcashback as they said we had to directly clicked through from TCB. I was VERY careful to make sure I did exactly what I should to get the cashback as I was aware that there were many and various problems with Sky and cashback. I have tried to pursue this with TCB but they are not interested at all.
Good luck.0 -
Thanks
I don't expect a response from Quidco until Tuesday I guess as it's Bank Holiday weekend, but we'll see. I'm not expecting much though..0 -
Well i did get a response ..I will escalate this with our Administration team who will forward your claim back onto Sky. Please note however that we cannot guarantee that we will receive any further updates on your claim if Sky do not wish to confirm who the last referrer was.
Someone from the team will come back to you within the next 5 working days.
So they'll ask sky for more information but if sky don't respond, they won't pursue it ..
still, it's progress i suppose.0
