memory foam mattress/bed

I hope this is the right place lookibg for abit of advice.

Everyday i wake up with sore joints (my knees, ankles and elbows) the ache has now moved to my wrists, fingers and occasionally my shoulders. Now i am due a new bed and would like to know if its best to have a memory foam mattress to go on top of a metal bed frame or should i get a new bed frame to?

I am going to see the doctor if my joint dont improve with the new mattress (im 21 and 12stone so i dont think its that normal to have joint pain)

Oh and one more thing does any one know where to get a new memoryfoam mattress cheap?

I am sorry for the long post and if i sound cheeky.

Get into a good independent bed shop and try some out.

If you are suffering pain in your body the last thing you want to be doing is sleeping on an incorrect mattress.

Go for pocket sprung, 1000 springs or more, with or without memory foam or latex.

Go for a softer mattress, yes a softer mattress. Too hard and it'll push back against you shoulders and create pressure points. Softer but supportive mattresses like waterbeds are used in hospitals for people suffering bad burns, because it spreads the body weight evenly across the mattress.

Modern day pocket sprung mattresses will be supportive, softer mattresses generally give more support in the right places, unless the person is very heavy.

You won't need a new base unless you a) want one b) it's not flat any more therefore will not support mattress properly or c) it has massive gaps underneath ie slats very wide apart or horrible metal slats.

    Good luck.
