Auto fill phone number

I use Chrome to autofill on my entry forms and i only ever give out my mobile number. The autofill nearly always formats it to be 44 instead of the starting 0, my question is...do you change it to the 0 or leave it as the 44?

Apprently if you enter your number with out the 0, it will put the 0 in rather than change it to 44.

so if you numbers 07123 456 789 enter it as just 712346789 - not sure it'll work but worth a go? Let me know how you get on!

  • also watch some forms only allow set amount of digits so last one is chopped off if 44 starts

  • also some forms state "no spaces" beside the telephone number box and chrome autofill nearly always has a gap after 5th digit on the itv forms. would companies disqualify you for having a gap/space in your number without specifying it on the form or am I being paranoid? Surely If you're not supposed to have a space in your number then it would not be possible to submit the form. Thoughts?

Can't help but wonder if thousands of my entries have been voided...

  • To stop autofill changing 0 to 44 telephone number do not select a country from the dropdoen list when entering data - leaving it blank results in the 0***** number being displayed

Tried that. As soon as you have a form that has a country box on it, and select UK, the Chrome profile, very helpfully, adds stores UK in the country box :)

Ta all for the "leave off the 0" trick!
