Bailey's £7.99 a litre

B&M stores have a litre of Bailey's, all flavours, for £7.99. Usual price is around £20 a litre so this is the lowest price I've ever seen for it.

However, the best before date is end of September 2012. I got one today and opened it tonight, just for testing purposes, you understand:) and it was absolutely fine.

You wouldn't want to keep it till Christmas though as I'm told it has a tendency to curdle when past the best before date.

I got mine in Southport store but the staff there told me it was a nationwide offer while stocks last.

Just an idea, I heard you can freeze milk, maybe fill an empty 2 litre lemonade bottle, as its 1 litre of bailey's it will have room for expansion, then funnel it back in the bailey's bottle at xmas. I wouldn't freeze the glass bottle though as it will crack most likely.

Or in ice cube trays that way you don't need to defrost it just fill a glass with several cubes

Have you ever seen frozen milk? I've only done it once (with skimmed milk) and it looked v strange frozen, but returned to normal once fully defrosted.

I like the ice-cube idea, saves defrosting the lot.

Well on Weds night I polished off a bottle of Baileys I had in the cupboard, when putting it in the recycle bin I noticed the BBE date was Sept 2010  :rotfl:. I 'm still alive today though, and had no ill affects! I think it will last a long time, especially if left unopened til Xmas.

Just shows how careful you have to be in checking all your receipts and statements.

I heard someone else on fb say that this morning, I'm guessing it was a Scottish branch as that's where she is. I haven't used my card in B&M for a few weeks, but my DD spent quite a bit in there last week, but now her card is damaged and she can't check her account :( Have to wait for bank statement or new card coming before she can check as her bank is miiiiiiiiiiiles away
