Hi LoopyLouLou
Great idea to make a list, I do this sometimes when I have a lot of jobs to do when I'm off work either at weekends and in the holidays and theres nothing more rewarding than crossing off the tasks/jobs when they are done.
Your already off to a good start by doing the list. Well Done :T

awww :grouphug: sorry you are feeling overwhelmed with it all. I started clearing out some stuff to Ebay and car boot but it has just made my place worse. I went to bed early the other night beause I couldnt face it
my theory is though that if I carry on getting rid of the junk that eventually I will be able to cope with the rest - so far it isnt working but I am liking the money that is trickling in from Amazon and Ebay
Dont forget it is easter bank holiday weekend soon - not sure if you are off but it might give you a few days to catch up.

Loopylou just want to say I know exactly how you feel re your house. Mine has got to the stage where I will only invite very close friends in (and thats embarrassing). If the gas man comes to read the meter I feel so:o. Like you I have so much stuff - we're a family of 6 in a 3 bed semi and there never seems to be anywhere to put anything, so it just gets shifted around or left lying on the floor. Like the other poster, 3 of my kids are teenagers and barely ever lift a finger to help which makes me so  (they complain often enough about the house being a mess tho').
Anyway, sorry not to be more help, lots of useful tips coming in from everyone else for you though, just wanted to say I empathise!
Love

I would second the small steps approach, and make the main sitting room a priority, as there is nothing worse than constantly feeling ashamed when someone drops in unexpectedly, or sitting at night trying to relax, with the clutter niggling at you. At least with the bedroom, you can shut the door on it during the day, and your eyes on it at night.
The other thing I would suggest, if it is genuinely causing you such huge stress is drafting in some reinforcements. Do you have some really good mates who know what a tough time you are having and would rally round to help you get back on top of things over a weekend (a la How clean is your house?) If not, could you run to bringing in a professional crew for the worst bits (maybe by cutting down hard on other luxuries for a few weeks). At the end of the day the hard thing is getting it back into a fit state, not to the same extent keeping it that way, and its not worth making yourself ill over. Also if you work 13 hours a day, and also look after a family, when will you ever find the time to do this on your own!0 -
My mum always says her mother used to say "as long as your beds are made and the washing up is done, your house is tidy"! Start from here and tackle a small job each day, I'm sure Flylady will be a big help.Swagbucks earnings since 22/05/2012 £135 paypal cash
