Mandolins -food slicer which one to buy?

Can any one recommend a food slicer? I was thinking jml or zyliss or oxo good grips. They are about £10 - £20 but all get mixed reviews. I don't want to waste my money or lose my fingers. The biggest problem seems to be not holding the food properly. Does anyone have one they like? Thanx for any advice
