Dress Repair - Seamstresses share your opinion!

Options
I hope I am in the right forum here but I am wondering if there is any way to repair a silky jersey type dress that has a couple of plucks on the front? Unfortunately, I have only worn it once and my bracelet snagged it

  • Sometimes massaging the threads through the material can even out snagged threads. If the weave is loose then you might be able to use a pin the tease the snag loop through to the underside of the fabric - although this works better with pulls in jumpers where the 'thread' is larger.

It depends where the snags are... could adding some embellishments (sequins or something larger, even a scattering of sequins) cover the patches?

Pass a sewing needle through the fabric, right to wrong side, immediately by the pull - when the eye of the needle is very close to the fabric surface, thread the pulled thread through the needle and pull needle and thread through to the wrong side of the fabric. Just read that back and it sounds complicated - hope you see what I mean!
