Lighting levels for night workers?

So you want to make use of the union without the tedious aggravation of having to pay a subscription? That's not very nice, is it - they're not charities..................

The majority of the night shift ARE union members so as this is something that affects everyone I don't think it's wrong to mention to the rep.
If they do manage to get the light levels increased then they can't really just light up the union members can they?
Thank you once again for the reply.0 -
Is there any reason the union members on night shift haven't called in the union rep to represent them in this situation?.................

Sounds harsh but I have to agree, My last work place, we had a union, and whilst it wasn't the best it did help to be in it, those that didn't want to pay the £2 a week sub didn't have any problem asking for the unions help or looking to join at the last minute when they ran into a problem.0 -
I think the reason no one has called the union in already is down to apathy.
I believe most people joined the union due to a couple of the shift being dismissed due to absence. Our company has a very strict policy on disciplines when it wants to.0 -
Well .......... if the works council isn't bothered, the union isn't bothered and the night shift isn't bothered why wouild management be bothered?
The only way this is going to be resolved is if everyone sings from the same hymn sheet. At the moment it sounds like you're singing a solo..................

Yes that pretty much sums it up! I've worked there for 6 years now and I still live in hope that the general attitude will change.0

I feel for you, I worked in a place were I though the other workers would put up with just about anything as long as they could finish 5 minutes early.0
