FB Comps - like and share, tags, comments, through apps, etc....

I am just really curious...

I hardly ever enter the Like and share FB comps unless its an amazing prize. Often the prizes seem to be tiny and yet you see 100s sometimes 1000s of people sharing a piccy to win a Mug, Choccy bar, etc... I enjoy FB as its also my lifeline to the big world, and choose not to flood my wall, iyswim. Just wondering how many MSEers have won with Like and share really...

I do enter some comment comps, and often when you fill in your details on a FB app.

I've won a nice bracelet with L&S, but that was in December when there are loads of daily prizes. I only have a comping account on FB so flooding my wall isn't a problem as I don't have any 'friends'!

Never won but i'm the same as you, i very rarely enter them. If I do ever enter them I always change the privacy settings so that people from work/university/friends can't actually see the image as I know if I was them i'd just get annoyed seeing all the random pictures. But it does (generally) have to be a very good prize for me to share the image in the first place.

I don't mind the ones where you have to like a page and then comment on an image, it's just the ones that make you share that annoy me. And i do wonder how anybody can want some of the prizes that those comps have...

App ones i will happily enter and i've won one or two that way. At least with those ones the company can contact you and let you know you've won without having the worry that someone else is going to try and claim your prize! But again, whenever I use an app I always change the privacy settings so that only other compers can actually see anything it posts to my wall.

I think I've only won one like and share comp and that was for a pair of shoes.

Apparently like and share comps are against FB rules and are also open to alot of people claiming the prize in your name if you win because all they need to do is set up a new account in the winning name and claim the prize.

I have much better luck with the actual app competitions and there's less chance of someone fraudulently claiming a prize as they have your email address etc.

I do enter like and share comps for chocolate but that's because I like a little treat.:rotfl:

I've won quite a lot from the like and share comps on fb. I don't have any real life friends on my facebook but I don't have a normal facebook account, the only one I have is my comping account. If I didn't comp I wouldn't have a facebook at all.

I have won quite a bit, but too many people are entering now so I've given it a break for a while, probably start back in dec with the advents. Ive not seen anything I want either, I mean, 500 shares for a bar of chocci is crazy. Too many cheats are putting a lot of the people I know off too xxx

I've had a facebook account for my comping for ages, today when I've gone to sign in I've had a notice to say they have received information that the name is fake - it is my nickname - and I need to verify my account. To do this I had to identify pictures of my friends. Unfortunately the photos are ones that people have got in their profile due to comping so I am not sure how I can recognise someone by the photo of a bottle of perfume etc? Not sure what to do now does anyone have any advice? thanks x

weve all been reported lately for so called fake aco!!!!s im arfriad in your case you dont really have a hope because its jsut a comping account which they dont allow

I only use apps for comping & rarely win( about once a month) - i had to verify my account too - I'm wondering if the are doing the whole lot to get rid of fake accounts - I was lucky all my piccies apart from one were family & the other a gaming friend I've had for years
