How long do i need to keep br paperwork?

Hello,
I went br two years ago now, time has gone so quickly!
I was lucky enough to get a early discharge.
Things have settled down now, money is still tight but i get by.

I have done credit clean up and think all is ok. Just need to check that everything is as it should be by getting a up to date credit report.
My question is how long do i need to keep the paperwork ie old statements, letters etc.
I have a big bag of them and have been tempted to get rid of them before but worried I may need them at some point. what has every one else done?
Also just want to say to anyone about to go through it all. It does get better!

If you don't need them for your own records then you can throw them, the debts are no longer yours, they went into your BR estate and that has now been closed, all you should keep if you have one is the certificate showing you are now discharged.

I would keep at least the BRO and ED letter indefinitely, old debts covered by bankruptcy sometimes get chased by DCA's many years later as shown by many posts on this forum and although the DCA's haven't got a leg to stand on, sending a copy of the BRO is the easiest way to silence them.

also i would keep, one example of a letter from each debt so you have a record of the companies, contact numbers, amounts references etc which could be usefull if anyone does try and chase you
