Mortgage dificulties due to default/low credit rating!! HELP

Options
Hi all,
I am in a very desperate situation, I got a default on my credit history of a mobile phone company, of a cancelation fee they could not get back in Sept. 2009.
I was out of the UK between 2008 and 2010, in 2008 I tried to cancel the mobile contract as I was leaving, they insisted so much of me no leaving them that offered me
18 month free of charge contract (just the monthly pay), as I did not know how long I will be away, I stupidly decided to accept their insistence and took the deal.
I came back in Feb 2010 and found out that a deb collector was after me to get the payment as the 18 month passed, I naively thought that the mobile company will just gate any payments thru my direct debit.
It wasn't like that and they closed the account but could not get the payment, so I pay in everything they were asking for this on my return, £45.
This means this gave me a default, that up to these days is causing me huge frustrations as I want to get a mortgage, I couldn't even get a credit card until early 2012 as finally I got granted one but with high interest on it.
As I got a credit card, I decided to put an offer on a flat, offer accepted, then with a mortgage adviser we found a lender and even got a mortgage certificate to go ahead with the offer, but this was issued using my 1st name and my mothers maiden name as in my passport it shows, my 1st name, my surname (fathers) and mothers name, I am originally from south America and this is the way we use and is on my UK passport, then when I asked to change the name, nothing happened for a couple of weeks so I had peace of mind all was going well, and have pay initial fees to solicitors, lender survey and searches, a week ago the bank came back saying that they did another credit search
Using my surname (fathers and the one I use) and declined to lend me the 85% but just 65% which I don't have the rest. Now I am in a limbo and already have paid around £800 in surveys solicitor etc.
I am frustrated, depressed, desperate, hopeless, angry, sad, etc, feel that there is a great injustice on this, just a £45 default for something that I wasn't aware of and because I surrender to the mobile company huge insistence on keeping the account, I got around 15% deposit, I got a regular and stable job and I find this extremely unfair.
I have ordered credit reports in sept 2011 and just waiting for another one I ordered now.
I need some help please.
I appreciate if some one could point me in a direction where I could get the mortgage with my situation.

:o

I'm from South America too, and my passport is not like this - South America is big mate! Have some proud and say the name of your country!

Anwyay, the best is to get a financial advisor and apply for another mortgage with them. They will be able to explain the situation better to underwriters.
I hope it all goes well.

Are you applying alone or with partner? Maybe a partner can support the application? Joint application.

Thanks Andy, this is where we are at, looking for another lender, but very scared that they will find this credit issue and decline, I am trying to remain possitive but its been so difficult, an individual fighting against a system, a data in a computer etc.

Then there are other issues in play. The reason for this is not the old default.
