We have a bad credit history due to a failed business but we have sorted ourselves out and all arrears are up to date, different jobs etc. However, we want to remortgage and dont know where to start.
Can anyone recommend a IFA that would help us with this? Or shall we just not waste our time due to the bad credit history?

What is the bad credit and when? Defaults, CCJ's etc?
There are lenders who will consider previous adverse credit. What loan do you have and what is the valuation?

Both. All arrears paid up in April 2012. CCJ was 2 years ago. Mortgage currently stands at £93,500 valued at £125,000 ish.
Current lender is Paratus AMC.

Was the CCJ joint or sole name?
Worth checking Experian, Equifax and Call Credit and then put those reports in front of an experienced mortgage broker.
With the CCJ 2 years old, a mortgage will be difficult to achieve but not impossible depending upon the content of the above reports.
Good luckI am a Mortgage Broker
