Hello everyone,
Apologies if this question has been asked before but I've searched old threads over the past hour and couldnt find a huge amount.
Here is my situation,
I have a poor credit rating and last year I entered into a DMP as my spending was out of control. I am sticking to this and it has helped me not take out anymore credit and try to beat my demons.
I've been with my partner for 12 years, he has an excellent credit rating and has had mortgages over the past 13 years and has never messed a payment.
He is due to re mortgage now and has found some really good rates, however I am scared that my credit rating and DMP will affect the decision and they will say no.
The mortgage is always been in his name. We do however have a joint bank account together and the account is always in credit, it has an overdraft but we have never had to use it.
What do you guys think? The deal we want is fixed for 5 years and in that time my DMP will have finished and I will be able to start to repair my credit rating.
Any help or advice would be great
Thanks x

If your partner can afford the mortgage in their own right. Then no reason why remortgaging in a single name should be an issue.0
