Tesco Home Shopping Help

This may or not be the right place to put this, but wonder if any of you have used this service.

I am ill at home at the moment and am unlikely to leave the house until next week at the earliest, so ordered some goods from tescos, not a lot, just enough to tide me over until I am back on my feet. Tescos have just delivered my 14 items, but have forgotten 2 of them, just my luck they are the little treats, the chocolate and biscuits!!

I phoned their customer service who said they would refund my card, which I accepted but am still not very happy. I would have liked to receive what I ordered, as I will not be out and about for a few more days.

This is the first time I have ever ordered home shopping from a supermarket, is this acceptable practise?

Many thanks

Mikey

This happened to me too when house bound. It does happen though not every time they might forget/mix up a few things.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

    Hi Mikey,

Sorry to hear you aren't well at the moment, I hope you feel better soon. You will probably get more replies to your thread on the Shop but Don't drop board so I'll move it over there.

Hi mikeywills, hope you feel better soon. Your experience seems like par for the course with online grocery shopping, none of the supermarkets seem to be perfect but some are better than others. I've been ordering online for a couple of years and have tried Asda, Tesco's and Sainsburys. Sainsburys seem to be the best in my area and I've had fewer problems with them than the others. There's an interesting thread on here about Tesco substituting products and online grocery shopping in general: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=406654

    Hi Mikey

Sorry to hear you're unwell, and that Tesco messed up your order.

I've used Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda and Ocado (Waitrose) for online shopping, and the only one I would recommend is Ocado. I've been shopping with them for a couple of years now, and I think I've had one substitution, one missing item, and two damaged items in all that time.

If you're shopping is more than £75 it is also delivered free, which is great,, othewise I think delivery is £5 (not sure). And they do one hour timeslots, which I found much better than the two hours offered by the others.

I would thoroughly recommend the whole process, although of course the first shop is the most painful, as you have to find everything.

    Hope you feel better soon
